Bursting with positive energy, this butterfly entitled “Radiant Spirit” is the first in the series of large-scale color studies of butterflies.

The butterfly shape lies stationary in the center of the canvas and yet, the abstract background, abstract shapes, as well as the undefined and multi-defined edges provide an amazing amount of movement. As your eye travels around the piece, you will find pockets of joy; wrapped in color. Color bursts emanate from this central force to reveal feelings of love, peace, and joy.

Warm tones shine in this painting. When the light hits it a certain way, iridescent pigments glimmer with blue opal, white pearl, and subtle hints of fuchsia.

The symbol of a butterfly is one of dance, movement, and transformation. A painting begins much like a caterpillar, very simply. As layer upon layer is added, it transforms. In life too, we have the opportunity to transform our character and our lives as a result. We can strive for beauty, goodness, and truth.

This piece was painted using NovaColor acrylic paint; which is a highly respected, top-quality brand. This artwork was painted on un-stretched canvas, and is ready to ship. I ship pieces like this in a roll, carefully packed inside a shipping tube.

This canvas can be hung un-stretched on your wall, or I can help you coordinate having it stretched over stretcher bars with your local frame shop. The price of stretching is not included in this purchase, but should cost around a few hundred dollars to do so.
