Butterfly Horse Print "A Portrait of Strength and Transformation"
A Horizontal Print
When I was pregnant with my daughter Camille, I had a dream, and in it, a turquoise horse grazed amongst the rainforest. In my dream this painted horse was covered in beautiful butterflies and brightly colored moths.
The horse I dreamt of grazed amongst the verdant backdrop with its back to me, and was covered in the most beautiful colors of the Monarch and blue Morpho, with colors I had never seen before.
Upon reflection of this dream, I discovered that the horse probably meant strength- think horsepower, how we typically measure the power of moving vehicles in our modern world. The butterflies represent transformation. Their lifecycle includes changing drastically from a creeping, crawling insect into a fluttering, winged species of the sky.
Can you imagine sprouting wings from your earthly body and flying through the spaces you could only once crawl through, changing the rules of how you once operated under gravity and your very own pre-transformed DNA? This same blueprint for your life once transformed allows us to become who we are really meant to be.
As a little girl, I always wanted a pony. I played with toy ponies, and loved the occasional horseback ride with my Girl Scout Troop. This painting is for any little girl or boy, no matter how old or young, who still dreams in color and can have a little fun!
